Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
― Marianne WilliamsonThis weekend I’m doing it again. I’m continuing my with own personal growth. Digging deeper. Challenging myself by getting more in touch with who I am. Opening myself up to what needs to be revealed. Exhilarating? Yes! Scary & intimidating? Yes, even more so!
I’m attending a workshop with one if my favorite spiritual leaders, Marianne Williamson. She is an extraordinary woman, who I very much look up to, with poise, presence, and grace. I find her work intelligent and inspiring beyond measure. She makes you think. deeply.
When you give yourself the space to think and feel, things come to the surface. And they’re not always the feel-good, happy things. Usually it’s an awareness of those things we need to change. great. But I know, these are the things we need to feel, to release what might be holding us back, so we can evolve and excel to the next level. And grow.
If you are not familiar with the above quote, I encourage you to read it over a few more times. It is touching. It makes you think- differently- about who you are and how you fit in the world.
This quote was one of my first wakeup calls that maybe I could live my life differently. This quote is one of the main reasons I continue to build my online presence, blog, vlog, speak, and put myself out there in ways that are not always easy for me.
I KNOW that when we shine, we empower others to step out and shine as well. We make it easier for others to stand up for themselves and use their voice. So I continue to share myself, and work with my fear of having people not like me, my self-consciousness, and that imagined threat of being too much.
I hope this will inspire you to do even one thing differently that you haven’t done before due to fear or feeling inadequate. I hope you will stretch your limits, pushing the envelope on your potential and fulfilling your desires.
Actually, I really hope you will go after your dreams. I am. You deserve it too.
If there is something in your life your are holding back on, go take one step in the direction of that thing. Make the call. Write the blog. Post that picture, etc, etc.
If you do (and I know you will), I hope you will respond to this email and let me know what is that one thing you decided to do differently. I really want to know. I am rooting for you.
Stay tuned! Next week I’ll be sharing my experience from the weekend and the developments yet to be released.
