I uncovered her million-dollar wardrobe | Style Intervention [before & afters]

Exciting news! This week I completed my 1st Style Intervention.

    The results:

    • one very happy, confident, stylish woman, who now ‘feels like a million bucks’

    • (drumroll) fully realizing my love & talent of styling
    • confident confirmation that, yes, dressing yourself in clothing you love will change your life.
    • a plethora of clothing donated to a needy cause

This week I visited Linda, a Your Vibrant Brand mentor, to play in her closet and upgrade her look. Our pre-session conversation went like this:

Me: As an established business owner, how do want to be perceived?

Linda: I have no idea! I just want to show up as an expression of who I am.

    (Don’t we all!?)

Me: ok. let’s try this: 3 words to describe how you want to look.

    Linda: elegantly comfortable, stylish, artistic

Me: Who’s style do you admire?

Linda: No idea? I am so checked out with style! Diane Keaton? Free & flowing. Clean & classic.

    Me: Tell me more.

Linda: I have no idea how to express myself stylistically. I don’t enjoy the process of shopping or getting dressed. I lack the vision all the way around. I hate it. I just don’t care enough about it.

(she is not alone here! Most busy women don’t…this is where I can help you!)

Me: Anything else you want to share about the personal style you desire?

Linda: I just want to feel good in my body & in my clothing

(ding ding ding! That’s my speciality! I can not wait to get my hands on her at this point!)

Upon arriving at Linda’s home, she claimed she literally had nothing to wear. She had ‘given away everything.’ (almost true)

In Linda’s closet, not only did I find (hiding) a few beautiful, elegant dresses (perfect for day-to-night, dress them up: dress them down), but also two gorgeous Brooks Brothers suits that fit her like they were made for her (were they? hmmm) See photos below.

Well-fitting pant suits are like gold to a busy professional woman- not because they scream ‘professional,’ but because they can be mixed and matched into practically hundreds of looks! (I was drooling at this point!)

Linda had a great collection of scarfs, classic, as well as creative jewelry, camisoles and a few cute tops. The key for Linda was opening her up to the possibilities of creating looks from the basics she already had. She had no clue that she was sitting on what looked like a million-dollar wardrobe. Once we started trying on outfits, and pairing each outfit with multiple options- scarfs, necklaces, and other separates- Linda was transforming into a different woman before my eyes.

As the Style Intervention (aka playing dress up) progressed I noticed Linda growing taller, more present and even (gasp!) excited about the looks we were creating and the woman she was seeing in the mirror.

I even had her taking her own selfies! I could’ve died and gone to heaven right then & there! It was like Linda was physically transforming before my eyes.

Did she grow taller, lose 10 lbs,, get botox? NO. NO. NO! She was getting turned on by her own self. Dressing in a way that felt good actually made her feel more like herself and she felt amazing in her clothes- and own skin!

    Confidence, enthusiasm, charisma- presence!

She had it all! Don’t get me wrong, Linda is a confident, competent, busy professional who is exceptional at what she does, but this was not the same woman I arrived to find that morning.
Linda learned that she can look put together and professional- so she can be taken seriously- at the same time as expressing her creative, playful, artistic essence- her true self!

(check out a few before & afters at left)

I left Linda fabulously dressed, looking elegant and feeling comfortable, finished with light makeup on to complete the look. She literally flounced out the door to her next client appointment, like a little girl off to her 1st day of school.

    Stunning.

I consider Linda’s case a true bombshell bust. She is a beautiful woman with a great figure (and wardrobe!) that has been hiding out for way too long. We’ve uncovered and enhanced her true beauty and it shows! Stay tuned for more on Linda.
