I remember this photo being taken.  I was in the thick of a dilemma-  Whether or not to file down all my teeth, to be replaced with $15K worth of porcelain veneers.
Ironically, this photo was taken for a modeling job for a Cosmetic Dentistry ad- one of the many jobs I booked for my teeth.  The time I spent in self-criticism over my teeth, the tiny little ‘imperfections’ I chewed…only I would ever notice…

I was suffering from what I call the mind parasite- perfectionism.

I did finally wake up to smell the roses- my own roses… Seeing my own beauty, appreciating my authenticity, Feeling my inner Superstar.  Most interestingly though- it wasn’t until I addressed what I saw on the inside that I came to most love and appreciate what I saw on the outside.

I was dying inside. Dying to be seen…Maybe you’re feeling that way too?
 

Truth is my teeth are perfect exactly as they are- for me.  They are me.  Even through the transition of my baby teeth to my adult ones, they have shaped my smile in the very same way.

Interestingly, years after changing my diet and refraining from an all-day-long coffee-drinking habit, my teeth started to look whiter, healthier, and-yes- I even started to love them even more.
So it is- I still have my own teeth & I’m so grateful the choices I have made. xo
