Are you facing your Fear of Feedback?
Why is asking for feedback so scary?
I still feel that fear every time I take the risk, reach out and ask… ‘What do you think?’
No matter how strong and secure you are, to ask people what they really think of you can be a nail biter. We all have these SAME FEARS & facing the truth can be one of them!
I’ll admit hearing negative feedback can take a bit of digesting. But in the end, it always builds my courage muscles, forms deeper connections with others, and gets me more in touch with who I am.
So why am I sharing this with you? Most of my clients have a hard-wired fear of judgment (me included!). “What will people think?!” seems to be the common conundrum holding us far beneath our potential.
My experience: It gets easier.
My advice: Go towards your fear, face your fear and make friends with it- literally. I have struggled with speaking my TRUTH, speaking to people & self-consciousness most of my life. Once I realized it was far more painful to hide out than to stand out, I pushed myself out there & it feels so LIBERATING to just do it. Still scary, but getting easier and WAY MORE FUN!!!
So, is it worth the risk? I say YES! Continue to put yourself out there because every time you do, you learn & grow. You may get scared, but you adapt, then take what you need and move on.
My mantra: Don’t take things personally. Because it is never about YOU anyways.
